i’m going to a prom themed night at a club on friday, and i thought i’d try on my year 12 formal dress, just to see if it would fit - and low and behold, it does ! i nearly cried with happiness, it hasn’t fit me for two years and i adore it, so not being able to fit into it was a pretty huge blow to my self esteem, but when i could do up the zip tonight (after i had dinner so i was pretty bloated) i was absolutely ecstatic. it’s a bardot size fourteen, i can’t even explain how stoked i am.
it’s so refreshing to know there are models out there who don’t starve themselves. while i’ve never personally wanted to look like a Victorias Secret Angel (i’m far too pale and it’s just not my style) i think this plan looks awesome and i’ll definitely try it in the future.
life update, 12/4/12
well, my 19th birthday and easter have now come and gone and i’m feeling a wee bit frightened to get on the scales after a good week of indulgence. i’ve just scored a job with international high street chain ZARA here in adelaide and start working pretty huge shifts the day after tomorrow, so hopefully zipping around a giant store for nine hours a day will help me shift some holiday conditioning. i’ve been having a lot of trouble with my hip and back as well, so that’s set me back on my exercise plan a lot.
but, now that i have a job that pays decently, i’m thinking of giving optifast a go just to kickstart my losing and get my appetite back in check. a good family friend has been using the optifast plan for a few weeks and is getting pretty good results so i’m thinking ‘why not ?’, so when i get paid next week that’s what i’ll be buying first up ! i’ll probably give it a try for about two weeks and see how i feel, and then decide whether or not i’ll continue with it.
anyway, here’s a couple of photos from march and april just to illustrate how i’m looking at the moment. i’m not feeling too bad about myself and because it’s getting colder i’ve been wearing some of my winter clothes from last year and i’m delighted to find that they’re baggy. it’s awesome !
falling into the junk food binge trap again because I’ve been miserable lately. Need. To. Stop.
just so you can actually see the difference
june 2011 - today.(i took a decent photo on my camera but i can’t find the god damn cord. djfhsgdhlhk.)
I took my dogs for a walk around the lake this afternoon. It was such a lovely day for it so I was super glad to get up and get into it ! It’s about a five k (forty minutes) walk, which I think is decent, it gets the heart rate up and the blood pumping, especially while listening to Katy Perry and No Doubt.
I think if I do it three or four times a week it’ll give my weightloss an extra kick up the arse and help me shed the last 13 kilos over the next few months. I’m not panicking about losing weight fast because I’ve given myself until December to reach my goal, I’m already halfway there and it’s only March ! A lot of my clothes are too loose for me now, so I’m looking forward to revamping my wardrobe once I’m at my goal weight.
Anyway, how nice is the lake in this photo ? Taken from opposite ends while I was on my walk, the weather was so great today, except it was so windy that one of my little dogs got blown over right into the water ! I think they’ll thank me for the extra walks every week too, I’ve been slack with them over the last month and a bit. Walking outside is so much nicer than being cooped up in the gym on a treadmill.
I’m feeling quite slim today. I’ve never found this skirt flattering before !

My friend Luke has just launched his clothing label that he’s been working on for the past two years and I’ve scored myself this awesome new raglan. Go and check out the Ancestry site and buy yourself a present, it’s all printed on top quality American Apparel !
I’ve just about gotten my eating habits back in check after the last month of being miserable after breaking up with Andy, so now it’s time to concentrate on the exercise side of things. To ease myself back into it I’ll start walking around the marina each morning. It’s a thirty minute walk at a decent pace, so I think it’s about four or five kilometers all up. After a couple of weeks of walking each day I should be back in good enough form to start running and weight training again.
I’m a kilo away from my second goal of 85 kilograms, so I should be able to knock off a couple by my birthday next month. Fingers crossed !
did I mention I got this about a month ago ? well, I did. it covers the stretch marks on the back of my left thigh, and I love it so much. I feel so much better about wearing summery dresses now, because I don’t worry about people staring at the marks on the back of my legs. How could you notice stretch marks if there’s something this beautiful there ?
